This is a rendering of the new women's correctional facility currently under construction in Rapid City.

Construction began in the summer of 2024 and is expected to be completed in the late spring or early summer of 2026. See the construction progress on the project.

This facility will be a Level III security facility. It will house up to 288 female offenders.
